Een poetsvrouw uit Weelde, een deelgemeente van het in de Belgische Kempen gelegen Ravels, won afgelopen week 2,7 miljoen euro. Zelf had de vrouw niet eens in de gaten dat ze de hoofdprijs had gewonnen in de Lotto. Het was Rudy Elst, de uitbater van dagbladhandel ‘t Dobbelsteentje in Weelde die haar erop attent maakte dat ze de hoofdprijs in de Lotto had gewonnen.
De vrouw speelt namelijk al jaren mee met elke keer dezelfde cijfers. Zodoende weet uitbater Rudy Elst precies met welke zes cijfers zijn vaste klanten meespelen met de Lotto. Hij bracht het goede nieuws over aan de 50-jarige vrouw. De vrouw werkt in de thuiszorg en haar man is fabrieksarbeider. De mensen in Weelde gunnen het deze hardwerkende mensen van harte. De vrouw was compleet in shock toen ze vernam dat ze de hoofdprijs in de Belgische Lotto had gewonnen.
In totaal won deze gelukkige vrouw uit Weelde maar liefst € 2.676.783. De vrouw heeft al plannen gemaakt voor het geld van de gewonnen jackpot, maar deze plannen houdt ze vooralsnog voor zich.
Een mooie opsteker ook voor dagbladhandel ‘t Dobbelsteentje en het dorp Weelde. In het dorp Weelde werd vorig jaar een asielzoekerscentrum gevestigd. Sindsdien is de overlast enorm te noemen. Asielzoekers uit Syrië en Afghanistan ‘winkelen’ in de paar winkels die het dorp kent. Voor duizenden euro’s per maand wordt er gestolen bij de lokale middenstand. Ook zijn er al gevallen gemeld van het lastig vallen van mensen.
