Krasloten: vrijwel iedereen heeft het weleens geprobeerd. De kans dat je wint is niet heel erg groot, maar de kans is natuurlijk altijd aanwezig. En dat maakt ook dat krasloten regelmatig gestolen worden bij een overval.
Dit gebeurde ongeveer een jaar geleden ook bij een tankstation in het Belgische Houthalen-Helchteren. Hij kwam er echter al vrij snel achter dat dit niet echt een slimme actie was.

Overval
De 31-jarige man uit Peer overviel een Total-tankstation in de plaats Houthalen-Helchteren. De eigenaresse van het pompstation was al bezig met het afsluiten van de winkel, toen de overvaller binnenkwam. Zij was echter op dat moment niet in de winkel aanwezig, maar in een ruimte daarachter.
Er lag al wel een geldbedrag van 400 euro klaar. Dit was bedoeld voor in de kassa voor de volgende dag. De overvaller nam dit gewillig mee, maar daar bleef het niet bij. Toen de camerabeelden werden bekeken, bleek de man ook snoepgoed en krasloten meegenomen te hebben.
Geen spoor van de dader
Ondanks dat de man op de camera was vastgelegd, was het nog niet gelukt om hem alsnog in de kraag te vatten. Het nummerbord was niet te zien en dat maakt het extra lastig. Een verloren zaak, zo zou je denken. Maar niets bleek echter minder waar. De overvaller bleek toch niet zo slim als hij zelf dacht en zorgde uiteindelijk voor zijn eigen aanhouding.
Krasloten inleveren
De Win for Life-krasloten die hij had meegenomen bij de overval, kwam hij een paar dagen later inleveren. Het 
domste van alles is nog dat hij dit deed bij het pompstation waar hij ze ook gestolen had. Zijn nummerbord kon dit keer wel genoteerd worden.
De auto stond op naam van een vrouw. Zij beweerde dat ze tot twee keer toe lifters had meegenomen. Haar verhaal bleek zo lek als een mandje, waarna bleek dat de overvaller haar vriend was. De politie kon hem zo alsnog aanhouden.
15 hele euro’s
Met de gestolen krasloten had de man een geldbedrag van 15 euro gewonnen. Normaal gesproken is dit zeker het inleveren waard. Maar geldt dit ook voor een overvaller? Wanneer je ze niet inlevert, mis je weliswaar een deel van je geld. Het gaat echter om zo’n klein bedrag, dat het de vraag is of dit de moeite waard is. Het risico dat je gepakt wordt is immers een stuk groter. Zeker wanneer je de krasloten ook nog eens inlevert bij de winkel waar ze gestolen zijn.
Boontje komt om zijn loontje
Doordat het nummerbord van de auto van de overvaller was genoteerd, kon hij later alsnog in de kraag gevat worden. Al met al kan het hem duur komen te staan. Niet alleen krijgt hij een geldboete van 600 euro, daarnaast riskeert hij ook een gevangenisstraf van vier maanden. De volgende keer toch maar iets beter nadenken voor je je krasloten in gaat leveren. Zeker wanneer ze via diefstal bemachtigd zijn.
