Nederland kent sinds wat extra loterijen. Er is namelijk een vergunning verstrekt aan LotNL van Fair Share B.V. Via LotNL kun je zelf je eigen goede doelen loterij organiseren. Voorbeelden van loterijen die via LotNL worden georganiseerd zijn de Wereld Dieren Loterij en de Hollandse Helden Loterij.
LotNL voldoet aan de voorwaarden in Nederland. Dat wil zeggen dat 50 procent van de inleg naar een goed doel gaat. De overige 50 procent is bedoeld voor de prijzenpot en voor de kosten van het organiseren van de loterij.
LotNL wil de loterijmarkt openbreken
Voor goede doelen is een loterij een mooie manier om wat extra inkomsten te verwerven. Van elke euro die deelnemers inleggen, komt € 0,50 terecht bij het goede doel. Als je dus bijvoorbeeld voor € 100 loten koopt voor de Wereld Dieren Loterij, steun je voor € 50 goede doelen die wat te maken hebben met dieren.
De initiatiefnemers van LotNL vonden (en vinden) het oneerlijk dat slechts een beperkt aantal doelen wordt gesteund voor de bekende Nederlandse loterijen. Loterijen als de Nationale Postcode Loterij en de Nederlandse Loterij hebben bepaalde goede doelen die ze steunen en daar kom je als goed doel lastig tussen. Daarom geeft LotNL goede doelen de gelegenheid hun eigen loterij te organiseren. LotNL regelt hierbij het bureaucratische gedeelte.
Er komt namelijk heel wat kijken bij het organiseren van een loterij. Je moet een systeem opzetten om loten te verkopen, te administreren, betalingen te doen, etc. Ook zal er een trekking gedaan moeten worden die aan alle voorwaarden voldoen en er komen nog heel wat juridische verplichtingen bij kijken. Voor een goed doel is het niet te doen om dit allemaal op eigen houtje te regelen. LotNL neemt dit allemaal over van het goede doel.
Wereld Dieren Loterij
Het eerste goede doel dat in zee gaat met LotNL is World Animal Protection, ook wel bekend als WAP. WAP is buiten de boot gevallen bij loterijen als de Postcode Loterij en de Staatsloterij. Daarom organiseert WAP nu zelf een loterij: de Wereld Dieren Loterij. Het geld dat wordt verdiend met de Wereld Dieren Loterij wordt besteed aan de campagne ‘Wildlife: not entertainers’. Deze campagne is bedoeld om iets te doen tegen wilde dieren die worden mishandeld ten gunste van het toerisme.Wereldwijd worden vele tijgers, olifanten en leeuwen misbruikt en mishandeld om toeristen te vermaken. WAP wil graag dat dit stopt.
Ook een tweede goede doel heeft zich al gemeld bij LotNL. Het gaat om de reddingsbrigade. Voor € 10 koop je een lot voor de Nationale Heldenloterij. De hoofdprijs is € 10.000. Verder zijn er prijzen in natura te winnen, zoals reiskoffers, televisies en hotelbonnen.
