De Powerball-gekte in de Verenigde Staten heeft z’n climax bereikt. Gisteren was de trekking en na negentien vruchteloze pogingen, viel dan eindelijk de jackpot. Powerball jackpot moet gedeeld worden
Waar velen al voor vreesden, blijkt nu waarheid te zijn. De jackpot moet gedeeld worden. Tot nu toe zijn er minimaal drie winnaars bekend. Dat wil zeggen dat ze de jackpot van 1,5 miljard dollar, moeten delen met in elk geval drie. Als men kiest voor de lump sum cash, betekent dat 930 miljoen dollar gedeeld door drie, dat wil zeggen 310 dollar per persoon. Daar gaat dan eerst nog 25% federale belasting vanaf, waardoor er per speler $ 232.500.000,- overblijft. Van dat geld gaat nog ‘n paar procent belasting af voor de staat waarin de winnaars wonen. De tot nu toe bekende winnaars komen uit de staten Califonia, Florida en Tennessee.
Aankomende zaterdag is er weer ‘n nieuwe Powerball-trekking. Tot zaterdag kun je loten kopen voor € 4,60 per lot. Online kun je je loten kopen via The Lotter. Een pakketje van drie loten, kost € 13,80. Voor dat bedrag maak je kans op 40 miljoen dollar. Dat is het vertrekpunt van de jackpot. Om weer een jackpot op recordhoogte te krijgen, zal de jackpot in elk geval de komende negentien trekkingen niet moeten vallen. De kans dat dat gebeurt is bijzonder klein.
Een aantal loterijen hebben op dit moment zelfs ‘n hogere jackpot dan de 40 miljoen dollar van de Powerball-loterij. Morgen is het de trekking voor de Euro Millions loterij en hier zit 81 miljoen euro in de jackpot. Er zijn nog loten te koop. Voor € 6,25 per lot maak je kans op deze 81 miljoen euro van de Euro Millions jackpot!
