Het is nog maar de vraag of de Staatsloterij de prijzen kan uitbetalen. Er wordt driftig geadverteerd met grote jackpos die te winnen zijn, maar er ligt beslag op de bankrekeningen van de Staatsloterij. Dit beslag is gelegd door de Stichting Loterijverlies van Ferdy Roet. Roet probeert al jaren een schadevergoeding te krijgen van de Staatsloterij wegens het misleiden van deelnemers.
Hoewel Roet wegens mismanagement en enkele dubieuze financiële transacties aardig in een hoek is gedreven, heeft hij met zijn stichting wel wat successen geboekt. Onder andere bij de Hoge Raad. De Hoge Raad stelde namelijk dat de Staatsloterij inderdaad deelnemers foutief heeft voorgelicht over de kans om te winnen. Niet verkochte loten deden namelijk ook mee aan de trekkingen, waardoor de daadwerkelike winkans een stuk lager lag dan de Staatsloterij wilde doen geloven.
Waarom heeft Ferdy Roet beslag gelegd op het geld van de Staatsloterij?
Roet heeft dus gelijk gekregen bij de Hoge Raad. De Hoge Raad bepaalde verder dat deelnemers hun inleg terug moeten krijgen. Dat gaat over een behoorlijk bedrag, want tussen 2000 en 2008 heeft de Staatsloterij deelnemers onjuist voorgelicht over de winkansen. Tot op heden heeft noch de Stichting Loterijverlies noch de gedupeerde deelnemers geld terug ontvangen van de Staatsloterij. Daarom heeft Roet beslag laten leggen op de bankrekeningen van de Staatsloterij. De komende 30 dagen, kan de Staatsloterij geen betalingen meer de deur uit doen. Deze periode mag hierna nog tot maximaal drie keer 30 dagen verlengd worden.
Volgens Roet is dit een signaal dat hij aan de winnende hand is. Hoewel Roet door de rechtbank is afgezet als voorzitter van de Stichting Loterijverlies, acteert hij nog altijd als de grote gangmaker van deze stichting.
Staatsloterij gaat in beroep tegen beslissing van de rechter
De Staatsloterij stapt direct naar de rechter. De loterij eist hierbij dat de belaslegging ongedaan gemaakt zal worden. Volgens de Staatsloterij is Roet niet gerechtigd om namens de Stichting Loterijverlies beslag te laten leggen. De rechter heeft Ferdy Roet immers geschorst voorzitter van de Stichting Loterijverlies. De reden hiervan is dat hij aantal geldstromen niet kon verklaren. Verder vindt de Staatsloterij de beslaglegging een paardenmiddel, onnodig en onvoldoende onderbouwd.
